Standing up and dumping the broken pieces into the trash bin, Celest breathed heavily and tried to compose herself, her back turned on Kathrine. She was sweating coldly and pinched the upper bridge of her nose while she tightly closed her eyes.
This is bad... This bad... This is bad... she kept repeating inside her head.
She was not thinking clearly, the smell of the blood still making her go into bloodlust, heightening her thirst. Despite of this, she managed to utter out, "I'm just... scared of blood." Pathetic excuse. What a lie.
"What about my eyes?" she asked, acting as if she was clueless of the changes happening to her.

Kathrine pointed. "They're red...the irises are a blood red color..." Kathrine didn't show it, but she didn't buy the "afraid of blood" story. After the way Celest had threatened to kill the man who had tried to rape Kathrine, and then when she had tended to the cut, Kathrine had serious doubts about this explanation. "Are you sure you're alright?"

Celest placed her hands on the counter and took slow breaths. She could feel it, Kathrine was sure to be doubtful now. What will she do? If ever she revealed herself as a vampire, she will surely frighten the girl out of her wits.
She lifted her head, tilting it back, letting her hair flop clumsily behind her. Celest then answered, nodding, "Yeah, I'm alright... Really..."
Celest avoided the girl's observation of her eyes, hopefully she would just forget it.

So thirsty, so thirsty... she thought.
"M-Music? I listen to any kind of music really... From classical to rock, I guess. And what about you?" Celest glanced for a brief moment at the girl's neck, but looked back into her eyes.

She caught Celest's eyes on her neck, but ignored it. "I'll listen to it in class too, but I get caught most of the time." Celest frowned at the girl's story. The world can be very cruel sometimes; in every corner, there can be people that can do harm to anyone. True, some people can be quite pigs, never caring, as long they get what they want. Although what surprised her was the fact no one helped Kathrine before.
"I guess we can never really remove those kind of people in this world that's why we need to learn to defend ourselves. Seriously, no one has helped you before? Why, are they too scared to get too involved and get hurt themselves, maybe?"
She then asked a little awkwardly, "Those who, er, attacked you, haven't gotten their way with you, I hope?"

She smiled and gripped her guitar behind her. Now, she can hunt a quick one before going straight to her gig. Jumping off the fire escape, she landed gracefully on the ground before finally going off into the night.
