Kathrine sighed as she parked the moped in front of a tall apartment building. She had made it home safely, but the thoughts of the strange woman still wove in and out of her mind. She pulled off her helmet and smoothed down her tussled hair, then chained her moped up and went inside. She climbed the three flights of stairs to her apartment and went inside, locking the door securely. She was tired. She pulled off her clothes and put on a simple, thin, silken night gown before crawling into her bed and closing her eyes.

Celest had a few 'meals' along the way as she followed Kathrine to her home. Her scent was too easy to track for it was fresh, young, burning with youth. She had her fill when she realized where the girl was going. Holy... This is the street where I...
When she saw Kathrine pull over the apartment building, Celest almost slapped herself across the face. She's living just below my room and I didn't notice. Great, just great.
Having hunted and finally made sure the teenager was safe, she thought of turning in earlier that night. She went to her room and opened the window, letting in the cold night air. She tossed her trench coat on her bed, took her acoustic guitar and started to play, plucking the strings, also making sure she was not playing too loudly for the other tenants to complain.

Kathrine slept fitfully. The sun would be up soon, and she had classes to take in the morning. She sighed and sat up, running a hand through her hair, scowling. "This is rediculous..." She got out of bed, her feet padding softly across the hardwood floors of her apartment. She turned on a single dim lamp and turned on her iHome, smiling as the pumping base of Paramore filled the room with sound. She brewed some mint tea and sat on her couch, yawning slightly. She loved her little home.

Celest woke up with a start from the sound coming from downstairs. She fell asleep on her couch, still holding her guitar. She checked the time and was surprised it was almost dawn. She knew she had to turn in again to hide herself from the sun.
She stood up groggily, slightly shaking the cobwebs of sleep from her head. She placed her guitar back in its stand and went to the bathroom to wash up and change into something more comfortable. When she was done, she slumped herself on her bed and yawned. She was starting to drift off when her apartment phone rang. Growling, she stood up and answered it. "Hello?"
"Hey, Celest. I'm glad I caught you awake. It's your landlord, you forgot to pay your rent last night, you said you'll drop it off on my desk."
Awake, my foot. Oh, yeah. I almost forgot about that. Celest chuckles and said, "Ah, of course, sure, I'll be sure to bring it down in a while."
"No problem, it happens. Besides, it's the first time this has happened, no worries. See you later."
With that, Celest cut the line and sighed. She proceeded to get the money from her wallet and hopefully get her rest.

Kathrine sighed as she stepped out of her apartment, a backpack slung over one shoulder. She walked down the stairs, shuddering a little as one of the guys on the second floor made cat calls after her and offered to "Loosen her up" if she was bored that night. Pigs...They made her sick. She she stopped by the mandlord's room and slipped an envelope with her rent money in it under the door, than walked out the door and into the warm sunlight. "Yeah, the gigs I do have been putting cash in my pocket and I managed to buy a new guitar. Everything's going well."
"That's good. You just keep doing what you do best and keep outta trouble."
"Yeah, sure, thanks."
Celest went back to her room and went back to sleep until late in the afternoon. As she awoke, she immediately padded towards the bathroom to take a bath and quickly dressed up after.
She pulled out the amplifiers and her new electric guitar. Celest hung the strap on her shoulder and turned on the amp to a medium volume. She ran her left hand on the neck of the guitar and positioned her right over the strings. She grinned...

She left school quickly, pissed off. It had been a horrible day. She scowled and stopped at a local grocery store andpicked up some groceries then went back to the apartment building. Taking the key to a bare apartment in her hand, Nadia climbed the staircase and headed down the deserted hallway. The worn carpet making a scuffing noise against her boots as she walked. Odd smells of stale cigarettes and old grease and late dinners filled the air and she covered her nose. She would have preferred a place to live closer to the outskirts of town where the air was fresher but the rent was just barely in her budget and she didnt dare quibble over it. The landlord had said it would be at least 2 months before another one opened up for rent at that price. She unbuttoned her long coat at top and out of habit slipped her 9mm from the holster as she put her ear to the door. So far she had no enemies here but she had to be careful. She could tell by the smell that at least one vampire lived in the building. As long as she came and went durring the day she didnt worry. But it was late this afternoon, near dark when she finished her photo developing. So here she was unlocking her door with her back to the hall. Not a smart choice but unless she wanted to seem like the carabinierri or polizia of home she had to act moderately normal. She was about to reach inside and flip on the lights when she heard the scream at the other end of the hall. Habit and instinct took over and she dropped her pack and took off running down the hall towards the screams of anger. Automatically going into a shooters stance when she saw the girl being attacked she lifted her gun and aimed. "Unless you want to spend the holiday in a body bag or in the osteopathic ward at the hospital getting a knee replacement, get away from the girl, now!" she held the gun steady and watched. she would count to 3 if she wasnt released Nadia would send a bullet through the mans knee cap.

Celest was about to bring down her fingers to play when she heard a scream from downstairs. What the f...?
Somehow, instinct kicked in and she put aside her guitar quickly and rushed down the stairs in a flash. Finally arriving in the mid-stair of the third and second floor, with perfect aim and timing, she threw one of her throwing spikes towards the side of the wall where the man had the girl pinned, enough to get the attention of the attacker. "Oi! Unless you want the next one to be aimed for your neck, better let her go..."
Just then, she caught scent of someone different. A Lycan? Here?
She turned her glance towards another female who had her gun pointed at the man. If Celest thought (and smelled) right, she was the lycan, and somehow, she seemed familiar. For now, the 'enemy' was the man, not the female lycan and she knew they had the same purpose and that was to end this fiasco right now.

She did not say anything to Kathrine, that girl from the park last night. The sound of whistling from a projectile flying across the hall then thudding into the wall sounded loud in her ears. Her eyes narrowed but never left the man. As the second rescuer gave him orders to let the girl go Nadia stayed alert her weapon still aimed at his knee. When he finally let the terrified young girl go she heard the advance of the other person. The footsteps too light to be a man and the smell, that same kind of burning odor that irritated her sinuses filled the hall. Her mind screamed for action for her to flee but training kicked in and she holstered her gun and backed off a bit watching the other woman retreive the projectile from the wall. Not lycan, not human...vampire here in the same building with her and it was definitely not daylight hours now. Not able to afford a fight with the vampire for obvious reasons she backed up more into the shadowy hall where a light was burnt out. Once she knew the girl was safe and the vampire went back down the hall Night would head to her own apartment. There was no way she was sleeping tonight if she intended to keep her apartment here there were things she would have to take care of to make sure it was safe before she dared sleep. She needed to talk to Ike and soon if the two species were to co-exist with no fighting she needed his help and advice. Nodding quietly as the vampire left she asked the girl simply "Are you injured? Can you manage now on your own?"

Celest twirled the spike in her fingers as she walked upstairs to her room. She let the Lycan woman comfort Kathrine, she would not want to stay any longer downstairs. The scent of the woman filled her nose with a sort of strong musky scent, very typical of lycans. She walked inside her room and took up her guitar again, hopefully this time she can finally test it. Placing the fingers of her left hand on the correct strings, she breathed out and closed her eyes. Counting in her head for timing, she then struck the strings with her right and started playing an old song. It was just of the right tempo; it was not too mellow nor too hard. She opened her eyes and started to sing. "Neither away nor asleep, dwell somewhere in between... Neither someone or something, be it life alone...
