Having taken Ike's advice to seek out a place to live and hopefully find some sort of job, Nadia Elena Fiorrelli headed off towards town. With the sun up and nearly overhead it was safe for now to head out across the park. Atleast one vampire lived here in the city and she didnt plan on making herself an easy snack for any others who might be there. The brisk wind this afternoon made her long black coat flap against her ankles as she walked. A light snow had fallen overnight and she had discarded her nike's for a pair of well worn black leather boots that laced up the side of her leg. Trying to make a good impression on prospective employers and not wind up with being considered undesireable she had bathed and washed her long hair that morning taking care with her appearance. Now with the wind blowing past her she wished she had worn her last clean pair of jeans. The dark grey leather mini skirt she chose to wear looked good with her coloring and the blue silk blouse but it did nothing to keep her warm. Feeling hungry but at least able to purchase some food now with a loan from a friend she had picked up some soft pretzels at a corner vendor and some slices of beef at a local delicatessen. Now all she needed was a place to sit and rest her feet before she went to a few more appointments for interviews. Looking around her she watched squirells dart across the snow covered grass and race up a tree. Further on down the paved pathway she noticed a large fountain with water still spraying into the air in frozen arcs and partially melting waterfalls. Odd smells by the fountain made her stay clear of it. Instead she wandered over to a magazine stand by the other side of the park and perused the selection of offerings. With a little change she picked up two newspapers for the classifieds and a magazine on modern firearms then thanked the man working the stand and walked off towards a bench in the sunlight. She brushed the snow off the bench and sat, tucking her long coat under her and put the newspapers in her back pack then set it by her feet. Pulling a pretzel out and putting a peice of the beef with it she made an improvised sandwich and slowly ate it. With any luck she would find a job soon and be able to find an apartment for rent as well. That was her next stop. Savoring the meal she took another bite and listened to the noise of snow falling off the trees. It was quiet enough her that even if a vampire could come out in day she would hear them over a mile away.

walks along a hidden path as he just came from what felt like
hours on end of walking in the city. he walks along the hidden
path till he sees a tree that has red flowers growing on it.
Valentine then picks up a scent of another lycan near by
and blinks as he picks a red flower and walks off th e hidden
path and hides in the shadows of the trees.

Enjoying the rich bloody taste of the beef as she chews it with the texture of the slightly crispy pretzel Nadia sighs. It wasnt perfection but certainly close to it. She missed all the rich homecooked meals her mother made when she was growing up. It never failed to amaze her that no matter how often she ate pasta and the savory meat sauces her mother was famous for in Italy she never seemed to have to worry about her weight. Of course that was partly due to all the training and jogging she did most mornings before leaving for work. Now that she was getting aclimatized to this new city she would have to pick a new jogging path and start working out again before her speed and endurance slowed her down. As she took another bite of her impromptu meal she felt a change in the area. Soft footsteps nearly indistinguishable from the normal sounds around her let her know that someone else was near her. Then the slight smell hit her nose, somewhat earthy and faintly of musk and wolf. Another lycan was nearby. Well this city ceased to surprise her any more. Every day it seemed she encountered some new kind of creature or other person. Indeed the appearance of the other lycanthrope was quite interesting to her. Deciding to finish her sandwich carefully and put the firearms magazine away she looked up for a moment as if just admiring the odd antics of the squirell before it ran off. Then she smelled the faint scent of a crushed twig plucked from a tree and looked over towards the one with the red blossoms on it that peeked out in the last of the melting snow. Hmm very intriguing indeed. Standing and sliding her backpack strap over her shoulder she turned and slowly walked towards the tree. The closer she got to it she knew the lycan was a male from the difference in scent and the corner of her mouth turned up slightly. She cut across the grass dotted with slushy snow and as she neared him she stoped. "Well another lycan out for a walk this afternoon." She looked him over appreciatively not one to pass up the chance to appreciate a well toned physique. "This must mean that the fates look kindly on me. Care for some company? The names Nadia Ellena Fiorrelli, but you may call me Night Wind"

watches her with crimson eyes as she came over and smiles
slightly brushing black hair from eyes to see her a bit better
without his black and red shoulder length hair covering his eyes
and hands her the red flower from the vine.
"well i guess some company wouldn't hurt and im Valentine
yushi but you can call me Valentine if you like night wind"hides
a laugh as she looks him over then leans against the tree close
to the red flowers.
"so what is a beautiful girl like you doing out here, maybe for
the peace and quiet or the view?"smiles kindly at nightwind
as he says this

Taking the flower with her left hand always trying to keep her right hand free in case she needed her weapons she nodded. "Merely taking a break to eat something quick before looking around town more. I just didnt realize I would meet another lycan out here in the middle of the park." She guestured with her left hand towards the wide open area of the park. "It would be nice to know other lycans here besides myself." Not knowing if Ike wished others to know what he was or even that he lived near this city she decided not to mention him. The other lycan at the cafe seemed too unsure of things but then she'd only seen him once. She walked towards the paved pathway inviting him to accompany her. "What I would really like is to know how you manage to live here without problems with the vampire that lives here. Im not looking forward to being chased out of another town because Im a lycan." Getting close to too many people here wouldnt be good it only made them targets for her enemies. Night preferred to remain alone although she needed information about this place. Talking to the man with her seemed her most likely way to get it thus ensuring her survival here. Later she might think of helping with patrols if needed but for now she just wanted to blend in safely "Care for a warm drink? I have just enough change left from my advance on my paycheck that I can afford to share."

accompanies night wind and thinks for a few mins recalling."i've been here for a bit and if you act as normal as you can be and no one will kick you out of town and as for vampires there not all that bad, their very nice if you dont mind their odor and their bad tempers"laughs a bit and then stretches some"hmm a warm drink would be geart and i can pay if you like"smiles pulling back hair from face again. He mumbles to him self about his annoying hair always getting in his face.

The cost of the warm drink was negligible. She had plenty for that yet if he wished to pay she would let him. Looking at his long black and red hair she thought. It was a good thing that she had met him here. The more lycans she knew to help with patroling the city the better. Not wanting to seem too much like a tourist or new person she nodded as she listened watching his hand once again moving his hair out of his face. He seemed comfortable with his own nature which was a plus it made you stand out less, blend in more so others didnt seem afraid of you. Walking with a graceful gait along the path she put aside thoughts of new purchases she would make later from the weapons catalogue in her apartment. "Well Valentine it would seem you and I have somewhat common interests. The night, walking outdoors, as well as a love of nature." she touched the red blossom as she spoke. They drew close to an open air cafe in the park. Finding a empty table with an unrestricted view of their surroundings so she would be better able to keep watch as she drank, she turned to him. "Care to sit and wait for a few more stars to come out with me? Though its quaint and the beverages and food are good"

nods to night wind and sits down across from her with a kind smile."i do love nature it can bring great things out of any person or creature, the night sky can show a persons true emotions they keep hidden. This is what i believe any way."
watches night wind touch the red flower with curiosity in his eyes slightly then looks at night wind"i would love to wait with you and you don't have to keep an eye on your surrounds when nature does that for us, the night winds give us the scents of enemies and the ground gives away movement."
looks at the night sky"so what do you like to drink?"he asks this as he turns back to night

Night Wind looked at Valentine as they sat it was still a little cool outside, enough that a hot drink sounded very good. "You'll laugh at me but its always been hot chocolate, with just a bit of peppermint." she set her pack at her side within easy reach. She knew he was right about not needing to be so wary but old habits died hard. Inhaling the evening air she could tell easily that most people had gone home for the night, were fixing dinner or bathing. The smell of soaps, wash water, grease, and assorted meat cooking filled her nose. Under her feet she felt nothing out of the ordinary just the vibrations of the cars on the street and footsteps of the small outdoor cafe owner. Letting her shoulders relax a bit more she leaned back in her chair with a small groan. Even lycans got stiff after lots of walking. That old shower in the apartment was going to be so welcome this evening.
"Maybe I needed to find you in the forest tonight. Having someone to talk to makes me slow down for a while and relax. Its definitely better than getting ulcers from stress even if lycans cant get ulcers."

the only one who likes hot chocolate"he watches her and wonders about something
then orders our hot chocolates and fiddles with a pendant around his neck
"well if it ever need to talk ill be just a call away."smiles beginning to relax a bit waiting
for the hot chocolate to come and blinks thinking about something.
"i just remebered i had to find a young man and give him a letter from a long time
friend of his, i guess i could give him it tommrow"sighs and then shakes head.

Nadia thanked him for ordering their hot chocolate then looked at the pendant he wore. She watched as his hands played with it while he thought. What thoughts passed through his mind she wondered? She picked up a napkin folding it as she listened to him. When he mentioned needing to deliver a letter to someone she looked up. "This letter you need to deliver, is it ...... " At the same time the waitress arrived with their cocoa. "Alright who had the carmel hot chocolate and who had the peppermint?" She was very polite Nadia motioned to Valentine. "He ordered the carmel, mines the peppermint, thank you" After the waitress set them down and left, she turned to Valentine still curious about his thoughts. Would he tell her about the letter? Perhaps she should simply let that go for now. It seemed he was in a bit of a hurry, it was a shame as she would have liked to linger over her drink. Then again she had nothing waiting for her but an empty apartment a frozen dinner then looking over her firearms magazine. Not to mention the vampire who lived in her building. Tomorrow she would tell the landlord she wasnt satisfied with her apartment and needed a place closer to work. It would be better for her not to be near the vampire and risk losing her temper. Perhaps Valentine could suggest an area of town with less danger for a lycan. "Valentine I have a slight problem with where I live. It seems a vampire lives in the same building. Normally that would be fine however controlling my temper, my reactions seems to be more difficult around her. I wondered" she sipped her hot chocolate "Do you know of a part of town less likely to be inhabited by vampires? I think It might be best if I moved"

looks at night wind and stops fiddling with the pendant"i have a few places i know about but the only place is near by me, its on the outer limits of the town. no vampires go there, though its more of an open field and it gives you space to be your self. i have a home there and theres an extra room which i never use. there is also inhabited home near by me as well"smiles at her and sips hot chocolate a little and holds the mug with both hands.
"and to answer your question the letter if for a guy named randy, i believe its about his son or something along those lines"laughs a bit and looks at the hot chocolate"and im in no hurry yet, i would hate to see a beautiful young woman like your self have to be alone in this area...and if you like i can walk you home tonight"sips a little more hot chocolate.

Not liking the idea of returning to the apartment at night, she looked at him for a moment as she sips her cocoa thinking.
"I think Id like to take a look at that uninhabited house near you. To be truthful being this close into the city makes me nervous. A nervous lycan isnt a good idea." Smiling she sets her cocoa down and reaches for some small cookies that the waitress left on the table for them. Taking a chocolate one with sugar crystals on its surface she bites it carefully. The crisp rich flavor reminds her of something else. Lifting her cup for a drink she notices a sudden shift in the air, and the smell of others headed through the park. "When you're done here, I think it would be best if we headed to this field of your with the houses in it. Ive been through one encounter today already. I dont feel like a lecture from my pack leader on lycan etiquette or pack rules again. Id rather stay out of a conflict."

night wind with a kind smile"i see, well then i guess ill pay for this we can
go, and i can understand about the pack conflict i had one to many of those"
laughs a bit and gets up to go pay for the hot cocoa really quick and pulls back
hair into a pony tail as he waits for the change for the waitress's tip.
He also ask's for two hot cocoa's just as we ordered to go for the long walk to the
houses and fields. Valentine then returns to the table and hands her a cup of her
favorite hot cocoa and smiles"ready to go?and i can carry your bag if you like night
wind"he says this extending his hand out to help her get up.

Not surprised when he pays for their drinks, since they had joked about who would pay earlier, she does smile however seeing him return with a fresh hot chocolate for each of them. It must really seem a long walk from there to the field . She didn't mind as having company would be safer as well as give her a chance to get to know more about the area and packs.
She lifted her bag from the ground beside her chair debating the wisdom of letting him carry it. Deciding her two main weapons were already on her person, as long as he never left the bag behind it would be alright for now. She had to learn to trust someone sometime.
"Alright Valentine it's all yours to carry. Just dont let it out of your sight there are a few things in there that it would be better if no one knew about them" She buttoned a couple buttons on her coat at her waist to keep it from flapping open but leaving it open at her chest so she could still draw from her shoulder holster. Not that she expected problems but it was night, and the time for the bloodsuckers to roam as well as the furry ones like herself and Valentine.
Thanking the waitress for good service she nodded to Valentine "Ok lets go check out this field of yours with a vacant house available in it. I'm ready to get a safe place set up for sleeping"
