Unlocks the chest and nods with a smile" i paint its my only pass time i seem to have
had till i got a friends to hang out with around here,would you like to see the paintings
night wind?"he opens the chest and sees that in it lays simply old photos and a box with
the vampires signs all around it.
"odd why is this here. i thought this stuff was my families things"shrugs and leaves it be
to go show night wind the paintings he did. Many of the paintings are of land scapes, one
of a young boy with a teddy bear sleeping in his bed."many of them are just random but the boy in this picture use to stay here untill he...well lets just say he isnt with us anymore"he says with a little sadness.

Night smiles hearing that he did do the paintings. Now she really would have to show him her own drawing but another time. She watched him point out the paintings patiently and took time to enjoy the use of colors and shadow the way he painted. Then the picture of the boy with the bear caught her eye. So much feeling went into it, this child must have meant alot to Valentine. As she listened to his description of the painting and who it was she sensed a very deep sadness in him. I would see the boy really had meant a lot to him. Now that the child was gone she knew he would want to keep the painting safe to remember him.
The hair at the back of her neck prickled as she listened to him, her eyes drawn to the space under the stairs. That chest.....was it still open? There was something odd about it that urged her to come and dare look into its hidden recesses to learn its secrets. "You should keep this painting in your own home since he meant so much to you...." Her voice faded as she slowly walked to the chest not realizing she had moved.

Walks over to night wind and puts hand on her shoulder."the chest has something very odd about it please be careful"he takes the box out of the chest and puts it in his pocket before closing the chest with a sigh"i hope this box isnt what i think it is or ill have to take it to the vampires...and right now im not on good grounds with some of them"
He then smiles at night wind"i might just put all them in my home, but there is one painting not mine..."he then walksover to the coveed painting and slowly pulls it off to reveal a painting of a bloodly sight that is horrific and cant be described."this is not something i would paint...but it has an odd scent allover it" he says running hand over the painting.

Brushing her sleeves to get some cobwebs off she feels his hand on her and stops."why would the vampires be unhappy with you Valentine? If you need company when you take the box I'll go with you, but if you would rather go alone I understand. Though its puzzling that there would be something of theirs here"Night looks at the now empty chest from what she can see where she is and decides to leave it alone since he obviously is worried about it being dangerous. The paintings would be good for him to have in his home, she goes with him to look at the one covered that he says isnt his.
"So bloody and violent! The person who painted this must have either been very angry or have a very twisted sense of humor to leave it here in your home."Remembering his comment about the odd smell that clung to the painting she sniffed it and jumped back startled.
"That's the same smell Ive been finding in my room and in the kitchen and bathroom! What is it? Where, who does it come from?" she rubbed her arms suddenly cold from a chill that seemed to seep through the wall of the basement and surround them with a damp coldness. Looking around her into the shadows she searched for anything which would give her any idea what caused the sudden drop in temperature.

"i wouldn't mind you coming night wind but right now we need to worry about food for you and what to do with this picture."He says this while he covers it back up and looks at night wind."the person that did this picture was a vampire i was friends with and that is also were the box came from, it has a charm in it of the persons that is bad luck to any who hold it or are near it. That is if you believe in curses and plus i think its more of a vampire cursed charm then it is a lycans curse."He shrugs and puts one hand in pocket of his pants looking for his keys just in case he forgot them in his home when he came over.
Valentine goes back to the chest and pulls out a black hooded jacket and hands it to her."i am very sorry if this scared you night wind but my friend is long gone he passed away. He was the one in my painting before a vampire bit him when he was 21 on his birthday i believe, he died by that same vampire to a few years later. His scent was here when i found this place though."He smiles a little."would you like to go shopping for the house before it gets to late night wind?"

Night heard what he said though she didnt say anything more about the scent or the painting. As he told her of his friend who was bitten she remembered briefly her past and shoved it back to the darker recesses of her memories for now. She would remember to stay clear of the charm, the chest, and the strange painting as he knew more than she did about that. For now she was happy to accept the jacket and pulled it on over her head to warm up.
"Shopping sounds like a good diversion as well as fun. Lead the way you know more about this city than I do. Some food and other things would be very welcome indeed. Besides it will give me a chance to cook something for you." She smiled and headed towards the stairs leading up. There were still things that didnt make much sense but she had plenty of time to discover what they were. Maybe later she would explore the hiding place in the ceiling of her room, after cleaning the dusty kitchen among other things.

Follows her and nods"alright night wind, and i think i know the perfect place to shop. but if its okay i want to stop by my house to drop off this unlucky charm of mine" he smiles to not make her worry so much and try to have fun. He then walks past her once we're out of the basement and leaves the key on the top of the door frame."Also if you need to get in to any door just use that key, okay?"He looks at the kitchen and thinks about getting cleaning supplies for her as well while we're at the store.
Valentine also notes to him self about the hidden room, he remembers that it is dusty and needs to be aired out."night wind is it alright to air out the hidden room while we are out shopping for food?"He asks night wind with a calm look on face.
