Alex walked into the cafe and took a seat. He needed a drink and something to eat. He looked out the window. It was night, the moon was a crescent, and the stars were out. They waitress came by, a cute young woman with long brown hair. He smiled at her and gave her his order, then leaned back and relaxed. It was a good night...

Celest walked down the street towards a local cafe. She had just finished hunting and decided to have a cup of coffee or two. She entered the establishment and the scent of the people inside wafted under her nose. One scent caught her attention though.
Lycan, she thought. She did not expect to come by one during that time but she entered anyway, walking past other people inside.
I'm only here to have coffee, nothing more, nothing less.

Alex stiffened as the woman walked past him. She was a vampire. Her appearence and scent told the whole story. His hand slipped under his coat, wrapping around the grip of one of his guns, watching her. He wouldn't draw unless she became hostile.

"Nadia Elena Fiorrelli! You idiot! How could you come all this way and not make sure to bring enough money to cover living expenses!" She cursed herself as she headed down the sidewalk looking for lost change on the pavement. Nadia, or Nightwind as her new friends dubbed her, had just barely enough change to pay for something hot to drink before she looked for a place to sleep for the night. Hunting had sucked this evening and no matter how hungry she got she refused to go begging for food again. No more. Nearing the next building window she smelled the rich odors of warm food, hot coffee and other welcome treats. Her mouth salivated as she thought of it all. Putting a gloved hand to the doorframe she pushed it open making a bell jingle. The moment she entered her nose still attuned to the scent of prey caught scent of two others...Vampire, and ...Lycan? There was another Lycan here? She thought she was alone here. Perhaps she might be able to make a friend, it would definitely make adjusting to her new home easier.

Alex instantly noticed the lycan. He did NOT want to get dragged into that damned war again...He drained his coffee, placed a 20 on the table, and made for the exit. He brushed past the vampire's table, and then past the lycan.

Hm, this cafe is getting crowded. So much for coffee...

Night glanced around at the busy people, just then a man stood and laid down his money and pushed past her leaving. He seemed pretty upset about something and as he brushed past her she felt a hint of anger roll off him followed by the smell of lycan. Whatever she'd done to upset him was beyond her. All she wanted was some heat in her before sleeping out there in the cold. She tried to ignore the others without being rude and sat at a table off in a corner. Ordering a simple coffee, nothing else she drank it as fast as she could without scalding herself, she was suddenly anxious to leave the place. And that woman looking suddenly uncomfortable in a crowded place like this, something was different about her. She wasnt lycan like her, she didnt smell like the one who had attacked her long ago and nearly killed her. She smelled more of death, blood, and like something she needed to get far away from. The moment the waitress went to help another customer she would see if there was another exit that wouldnt take her past this other woman.

Alex climbed behind the wheel of his black mustang, started the engine, put it into gear, and drove out of the cafe's parking lot. The more distance he could put between himself and that cafe, the better.

Eyeing the coffee still in her cup she watched it cool by the second. The roar of a car outside made her think of the lycan who had left so quickly. Was she really that much of a threat to others? Even not hunting? She looked the menu over trying to blend in with the others and become anonymous for a while. Leaving like he had wasnt going to be an option if she didnt want to panic people. she would just have to find something else cheap on the menu and force herself to eat it then she could leave and find that place she noticed earlier to sleep. Looking carefully she found a side that only cost a little more and ordered the small cup of soup. While she waited she set her backpack on the floor at her side and held onto her coffee cup to warm her hands.

As the sound of a car roaring off down the street was heard, Celest knew the other lycan was gone. At least I only have one to worry about now.
She drank her coffee, letting the bittersweet taste of it flow down her throat, warming her for a bit. She glanced for a brief moment again at the lycan woman, taking in every detail she can. Celest would be ready if in case something would happen but inwardly, she wished that this night would just go by quietly.

When her soup finally arrived she waited for the waitress to leave then slowly savored each bit of food in the broth. The noodles kept slipping off her spoon and back into the bowl with a small splash. She nearly gave up and used her fork but manners wouldnt let her. She pocketed the crackers that came with it for later for breakfast and then sipped the last of the hot broth not waiting for it to cool. Not nearly as satisfying and tasty as ...well as a fresh kill...but that would come once she had a place picked out to stay in. Nightwind looked at the woman drinking her coffee and wished she dared speak with her but tired and not eating right would make her an easier target. No better to stay as anonymous as possible. Calling to the waitress she paid her bill then picked her pack up in her left hand and started slowly through the cafe towards the door. Unconsious of how her muscles all worked together to make it a smooth graceful passage one gift of being a lycan she never had to worry she would trip.

Celest drained her cup and stood up, leaving her payment and some tip for the cafe. She glided past the people when she noticed the lycan woman was also leaving. Her lips curled slightly into a small smile since things went by as she wanted.
Just as she was at the door, her cold hand accidentally brushed past the woman's warm arm. She then said, looking into her eyes, smling a little, "Oh, sorry about that, love."
She went out of the cafe and shoved her hands in her trench coat pockets, breathed in the cold night air and started to walk down the street.

Surprise filled her for a moment as well as a fleeting worry she brushed aside, when the other woman's cold flesh touched her. She claimed it an accident, it probably was Night was just glad that it was over and nothing bad had come of it. But when her eyes looked at her Night felt odd and forced herself to look away for a moment nodding then replying to her appology "Its fine no harm done." Watching as she left the chill touch of her hand remained for a while almost painfully cold. Odd, like death. And the smell in the air. It was all she could do to keep from making a grimace of distaste. It was going to take a while for that smell to leave her nose. Leaving the cafe Night watched the woman fade off down the street. She was definitely not human, she didnt smell like food. And she didnt smell like Night did, like lycan. What was she? shaking her head she pulled her pack over one shoulder then turned and walked the opposite direction to get away from the odd smell and clear her thoughts. She really needed some shelter now. Tomorrow she would look for work as a photographer for the local paper or a magazine, perhaps the police. For now she would stay out on the streets again.

Having had no luck searching for apartments in her price range and only a small advance on the last set of photos she took in black and white Nadia decides to take a break from all the pavement pounding. Passing the cafe once again she decides this time to stop in for a drink, maybe some food and see if perhaps the locals know of any exciting places for entertainment. She pushes the glass door open and the bell jingles alerting the staff that a new customer is arriving. This evening wearing dark black leather boots that fit snuggly up her leg and a skirt its a little chill on the streets. She finds a seat at a empty table then once again picks up an familiar odor. The same almost as before, not human but lycanthrope. Another lycan here when she was? That made three now she new of including herself. Being cautious but trying to be polite and civil she smiles and nods slightly to the man at the other table. When the waitress walks over with a menu Nadia looks it over quickly and orders while she waits. "I'll take a tea please, and a burger on the rare side please." After the waitress leaves her tea for her and she waits for her food, Nadia quietly watches him wondering what exactly this lycan might be doing. He was different from herself more like the smell around Ike when she met him., hmmm interesting indeed...
