He watched her carefully, hoping he hadn't offended her in some way by returning her affection with his own, with a soft sigh he looked into her eyes and spoke. "Because, they seem like their just the beginning of you... like there is so much more hidden behind them, sadness, anger, lonliness.... All the things I see when I look in the mirror when I wake up each night.."

Her smile slowly becomes a frown as she listens to Jacob. Sighing deeply she leans against him like he did before, resting the side of her head on his firm chest. Pulling the blanket up to her neck as she closes her eyes resting against him softly. "I guess you could say that."

He frowned slightly at her words, gently he wrapped his arms around her, pulling the blanket around himself slightly, gently he held her in his arms, it had been so long since he had held someone like this...
"What do you mean by that?" He whispered softly

"Just your opinion about me is all" Rayne smiled softly as she was being held in Jacob's arms. Slowly her body began to relax against his as arms were like a gate between her and the world. She was beginning to believe that while he was holding her nothing could ever harm her.

Jacob closed his eyes as he felt her body loosening up against his own, feeling the tension in her body gone he gently kissed the top of her head, silently holding her in his arms, surprised that after all of his years of existence he had never met anyone quite like Rayne.

Rayne lets out a soft sigh and shiver slightly as she feels Jacob's lips softly touch the top of her head. She whispers softly "Have you ever held someone like this in your lifetime?" asking out of curiosity as she gently put one of her hand on Jacob's forearm.

Jacob thought back as far as his mind would let him, he truly had never held anyone in this way in his entire life.... He had never really had any strong feelings for anyone in his long and lonely life, so with a whisper he answered truthfully. "...Never."

Rayne slowly opened her eyes and blushed brightly at Jacobs answer. She slowly slide her fingertips softly up his arm slowly. Letting out a soft sigh she whispers softly "That's quite surprising." Slowly Rayne scoots closer to him resting her head more on his collar bone rather than his chest.

Jacob's body shivered unexpectedly at her soft touch, a brighter shade of red creeping across his cheeks as she scooted closer to him, her head now on his collar bone instead of his chest. "...Why is that surprising?" He whispered softly as one of his hands gently roamed up and down her back.

Rayne lets out a soft sigh and look up at Jacob before whispering in a soft toned voice "Because ... You're handsome" gently she kissed his jawline softly then rests her head back on his collarbone once more.

Jacob smiled softly down at her as she kissed his jawline, her kind words sending a shiver up his spine, he softly nuzzled his face into her hair and whispered softly. "Have you ever been held like this before Rayne?"

"In my human life ... Yes, but it wasn't like this ... Not like this at all." She let's out a soft sigh as her fingertips lightly scan Jacob's nice strong toned body as she speaks softly. "I feel safe for the first time in this life as a Vampire" Smiling weakly she gently kiss his collar bone as she does so her eyes slowly drift shut.

Jacob kept his eyes closed as he burried his face in her hair, taking a soft breath in of her lovely scent, her fingertips on his body feeling oddly relaxing, he heard her words and the blush on his cheeks only brightened, Whispering softly as he felt her lips touch his collar bone. "..I am glad to hear that Rayne.. I promise I will never do anything to harm you in any way."

Rayne reaches back behind Jacob to gently rest her hand on the back of his head as he barried his face against her hair. Letting out a soft sigh she leans up more against him and smile softly at his words and whispers softly "Oddly ... I believe you." Smiling weakly Rayne turns her head to stare into his eyes softly.

Jacob smiles softly, her touch was so soft and soothing to him, it made him feel so relaxed, returning her gaze with his own, he leans down slightly, his lips pressing against her own in a gentle and caring kiss. "Good."
