She laughed teasing him, "Oh it's all part of the service, think nothing of it." She flicked the light switch on marveling, for a second or two, that he had been able to find a stool in the dark, then turning to open one of the large bay doors. They rose on smoothly oiled hinges to hang above her by 5 feet. She walked to the Monte Carlo and opened the door, which was unlocked because she had parked it inside. "Hop in and we can be on our way." She pulled open the door and took her seat. The interior was a maroon cloth with a split bench seat. Putting the key into the ignition, she started the motor and reved it only a little. There was a Jackson Browne CD in the player and soft tones were coming from the speakers. She'd laughed remembering how the other day she had caught Jackson on NPR radio and his chagrin over some republican Ohio politician using his song "Runnin On" for a commercial without permission, let alone paying. People did have nerve. Jackson had said the politician's office replied to his complaint that he should have been glad for the air time!

Jacob nodded at her words, moving to the opposite side of the car, he got in and shut the door behind him. He smiled as he glanced over at her, he didn't like the music playing on the radio but he easily ignored it and spoke softly. "...So, Calendrea....Im going to tell you something about me... and I don't want you to freak out alright? I promise nothing will happen if you don't want it to."
He lets out a soft sigh, his hunger was calling and he needed to feed, he hoped that this woman would at least hear him out before she slammed on the brakes and started freaking out, which he assumed would happen.
With a deep breath he spoke. "...Im a Vampire... I know, it sounds crazy, but I am... I have lived a very long time and over the years I have witnessed too much cruelty from my kind towards yours... Most of my race seem to see humans as nothing but a foodsource... I see you all as equals... you may not live forever but you are equals.....I'm telling you this because I no longer feed on humans without their consent... I know what your thinking, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to suck your blood and you'll become a vampire... Thankfully it takes more than that to become one of us..." He lets out a breath of air, letting her process what he is saying before he continues.

When he said, "...I'm a vampire"She lets fly with one bark of a laugh, it was just impossible not to. She did manage to contain herself as he finished with his explanaition though and drove without rushing to the motel to get rid of this loon. She turned up on Beech Road and went another block before he finished speaking. "You know what I'm thinking? I hardly think so, mister." She conintued up the street looking for the blue neon sign of the Best Western. "I would say that you were a great joker is all, but scared?" She glanced over at him with a glimmmer of humor showing. "Well, I'm a show me girl..."

Jacob frowns, heaving a sigh of slight irritation, but then again he had seen worse reactions, he looked out the window as she spoke then looked back at her, allowing his blood lust to rise just enough to demonstrate his change, his eyes become a deep dark red, his fangs elongating so that when he smiles they are impossible to hide. "Now do you believe me?" He calms himself with deep breaths his fangs and eye color fading back to normal as he looks at the girl. "...I am starving Calendrea... and it has been nearly a week since I have fed..... Now do you understand why I'm "Busy" During the day?"
Hoping his display worked, his stomach growls, protesting how empty it is and has been for some time.

She looks to him and can't believe her own eyes. But there it is just as she asked him to do, staring her right in the face. Trembling inside with a terror that she never knew it was possible to feel her mind races to make sense of it all. Seeing his red eyes pooling with the blood of the many he had devoured, fangs peeking through his lips, and looking at her asking for "...Permission???" She put the breaks on, spun the car into a swerve, and parked in a perfect parrallel to the curb outside the 7-11. Jackson Browne chose that moment to eject himself from the player and System of the Down was on the radio. The Best Western was only a block away and could be seen from there. She looks at him not only like he is a hell spawn, but an insane one at that. Shaking her head she rails, what difference now, its too late to run. "And I'm suppposed to care? Go ahead and starve!"

Jacob cringes at her expression, grabbing ahold of the arm rest as she swerves and parks it perfectly parallel on the curb by the seven eleven, He sighs deeply, speaking softly in the hopes of calming her down. "...Calendrea... Please calm down.... I'm sorry... I should have just kept quite and looked for someone else more accepting..."
Having this happen to him seemed to be the main reason he went without human blood, rarely would people give him permission, but those who did seemed to truly trust him, and he never understood why, he never tried to come off as anything less than a gentlemen to any, regardless of if he wanted to feed on them.
He stared at her, his green eyes glowing slightly as the moonlight filtered into the car, He spoke yet again. "...Please... Don't judge me just because of what I am...Im not some sick demented monster, looking to torture and kill and feed non-stop.... I just feed from humans to sustain my life.... Just because you don't personally have contact with most of the animals you consume, do you really think your so different from me? I only killed when I was young and naive. You humans kill and slaughter animals by the hundreds of thousands every day... just to sate your own hungers... I beg of you.. please... Let me feed from you..." He gazes into her eyes, pleading with her as best he can manage.

His voice is so sincere it kind of creeps her out. She shivers noticably and shakes her head. "Yes, you should have just kept quiet." His peculiar looks made a certain sense now, she supposed. What did she know about vampires other than in the movies? She snorted and shook her head once more. What did anyone know? Looking at him she did seem to calm though. She really wasn't the hysterical sort.
Sighing she said, "Alright. I wont freak out." She put up a hand between her and him. "But that doesn't mean I'm gonna let you...feed on me." The words made her shiver. "and don't pull any of that...you humans eat food too, crap with me. You know the difference same as me. If we are so...equal in your eyes one moment, then don't put me back down with the livestock the next!"
She looked at him with warning in her eyes, then settled a bit. "So how did this happen to you anyway?"

Jacob sighs deeply at her words and nods as he speaks. "I know.... I'm sorry... I just... I didn't think you would take it so badly..." He glances out the window, trying to avoid her looks, figuring she was looking at him like he was some disgusting horrible creature. "I understand that you won't allow me to feed on you..." he looks back at her, frowning at her question. "...I was born what I am..... I've lived..." He pauses to think a moment, always having a hard time remembering just how old he was. "I've lived five hundred and thirty years, give or take a few..."
He looked into her eyes a bit longer before glancing away. "I stopped feeding forcefully on humans. when I was nearly 100 years old... I was tired of the looks and terror in peoples eyes... rarely did I ever kill when I fed, sometimes by accident.... But that isn't me anymore..." He lets out yet another deep sigh, knowing she could probably care less about his life story, she obviously just wanted him gone and out of her life as quickly as possible. "...I'll be back tomorrow night to pick up my car..." And with those words he opened the passenger door and stepped out.

She felt sympathetic toward him and didn't like that feeling at all. So as soon as he was out of her car she kicked it into gear and sped away from there as fast as possible. She didn't even know how she got home, unless the Monte was on autopilot with GPS backup. She just transported herself home through rote. Pulling inside the garage she locked up tight and went upstairs and looked out the windows. What if he changed his mind about leaving her alone and came back? She moved away from the window telling herself not to be rediculous. She really thought that he had sounded sincere.
It was beyond thinking though. Weren't vampires supposed to be specialists in mind control, among other her things? Didn't it go to figure that he could sound as sincere as he wanted? She didn't get much sleep that night pondering her gut reactions and how they conflicted with reasonable thinking. Everything she had ever heard told her to get some protection fast, to leave town, to be ready to kill if he ever came back again. Killing...could she do that?
It was a fairly exhaused Calendrea who rose that next day, fed and dressed herself, completed her morning ablutions and started the day's labors. By noon she was no closer to a resolution of her confusion than when she had gone to bed that night. As she worked on the mustang she remembered every detail of every expression that passed between them. What would she say to him when he came back to get the stang?
Nightfall came sooner than she had hoped for and the repairs upon his ride were complete so he would get good quality for his money. But what disturbed her most was that she was thinking of him in terms of being human, with feelings and needs. She didn't like having to sympathize. It was much easier seeing the world in black and white. Much easier.

Jacob heaved a frustrated and irritated sigh as he watched her speed off, He walked the rest of the way to the motel and payed for a room for the day, He went to his room, looking around as he entered he shrugged, it would do for the day, He closed the curtains on the window and let curled up in bed, He would have to get his car when he woke up and he knew it would be an ordeal.
When he finally woke up it was about 8 O'clock and the sun had been set for quite some time, He got out of bed and didn't bother to mess with his long black hair, he just ran a hand through it several times until it was free of rats and then left the room, walking along the road making his way back to the garage where his car was, he hoped Calendrea would just give him his car so he could be on his way.
Nearly an hour of walking brought him back to the garage, with a deep sigh he banged on the closed garage Door. "...Calendrea?" He said loudly enough to hopefully get her attention.

Waiting for the night had taken its toll upon her; she was a bundle of indiscision. She prepared a meal, well she had thrown a few things intothe crock pot for a stew and had sliced som efrench bread for her supper, but it hadn't filled her with any warmth at all. She couldn't even manage to finish one bowl, her appetite completely gone from within.
The knock on the door sounded hollow to her ears and jolted her into action. Moving down the stairs she hesitates before opening the man door. There he stands, quite a different looking soul than he was last night. His hair unkempt and looking to have had a pretty miserable walk from the motel. She didn't know what to say to him, she wasn't prepared to face him after having virtually telling him she didn't care if he lived or died. It was hard on her to have to entertain his rights whatsoever. Wasn't he evil depite his suffering? She wavered in the door way feelings of shame rising back by anger she could feel anything like that at all with reguards to his kind.

Jacob stood there silently waiting, he didn't even entertain the thought of asking if he could feed from her again, He could probably steal some blood from a blood bank if he could find out the location of one.
As the door opened he smiled slightly, he had been hated by a fair share of the people he told and asked to feed from, most he never saw again and never really bothered to find. "Hello..I'll just get my car and go alright? With any luck you won't ever see me again ." He said softly, his gaze shifting from her downward to the ground, his stomach growled in hunger causing a frown to form on Jacobs face.

"Sure, Jacob...come on in while I open up the garage..." She moved away from the door to step back into the interior of the shop. His words cut into her more than she figured they would and she sighed heavily wondering what was wrong with her. She and her sister had imagined a whole world of their own full of all sorts of fantastical beings and adventures. So here she was face to face with one. Her sister woiuld say that she had gotten old and boring. However, her sister wasn't the one standing here next to a potential killer. This was no ghost hunt, or a lark with a faerie. Jacob was all too unpredictable. "Jacob...don't go." The words were out of her mouth before she knew it and it caused her breath to in take sharply. She looked up to him with hesitation and uncertainty.

Jacob nodded at her words and walked in past her, He glanced at his car, assuming she wanted him gone as soon as possible, her reaction to what he had told her about himself was a common one, But at least he had tried... He made a promise to himself long ago that to feed on a human without consent was just as bad as murder, Due to the fact that more often then not it did serious mental damage to the person who was attacked.
He furrowed his brow in confusion as she spoke again, her words surprising, with a soft sigh he looked down into her eyes, running a hand slowly through his raven black hair. "...Do you want more money for the work you did on my car? If so, thats fine.." He didn't understand why her demeanor toward him had changed over the course of the night, and the expression on her face made him frown slightly. "...Calendrea, I'm not here to hurt you, or feed on you. I'll just get my car and be on my way, since my presents obviously makes you uncomfortable."

Hearing him ask if she wanted more moeny only caused her more self recriminations. She flinched noticably at the question, stopping in her movement toward his car to turn round and face him. As she finished listening to him speak she told herself that he had every right to be disgusted with her behavior. "It may be obvious that your presence makes me uncomfortable but it is not because of you. It is because of me that I am ..." She felt rediculous to say the least and halted in her speech. "I believe you Jacob when you say that you will not force me to offer my blood to you. I am..." She looked up at him and sighed. "I am angry at myself for being so rude...I don't think I would like it very much if you just disappeared and I never heard from you again. I would always wonder what sort of friendship we could have had, if that makes any sort of sense."
She got a defeatest look upon her face thinking he probably assumed she was a lunatic to be acting so opposed to her previous actions from last night. She would just get him his car so he could leave and be done with her. Turning back to the bay door she bends to pull up on the lever and hoists the door open over her head.
